The British Columbia Chefs' Association is pleased to announce the launch of the cook book, "HOT CHEFS, FRESH PLATES" , a 10th year anniversary of the Junior Chefs Hot competition. This 60 page, full colour, recipe book was put together as a fundraiser for the BCCA scholarship fund. Lots of appetizers, entrees and desserts are inside this professionally made, high gloss book utilizing produce and proteins from British Columbia and paired with local wines. The recipes, illustrated with full-colour magazine-style photographs, are paired with B.C. wines and accompanied by a "grower profile" and an appendix directing readers to agricultural resources in their area.

"We want the recipe book to be both educational and inspirational," said Marcus Von Albrecht, chair of the B.C. Chefs' Association. "Not everyone realizes the quality and diversity of foods that we produce in B.C. and we're hoping to change that."

Hot Chefs, Fresh Plates, whose 100 recipes feature B.C. products and growers, received $15,000 in federal funding through the Advancing Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food (ACAAF) program.

The ACAAF program is administered in B.C. by the Investment Agriculture Foundation (IAF).
